Gourmet cooks are going to love the Beachtown Dreamhome's amazing kitchen.

Again, I am always shocked by how much work is done between our visits.  This past weekend, we finalized the details of our exterior paint plan and were thrilled to see the dark hardwood floors, carpet, kitchen lights, and cabinet hardware all installed.

Our “Something’s Gotta Give” inspired kitchen is nearly complete and our Seaside, Florida inspired coastal vernacular beach home is just weeks away from being done.

We have decided to hold our second open house over labor day weekend. So if you have been secretly reading this blog and have been wanting to tour the home for yourself, please plan on attending.  Stay tuned to our blog for official open house hours.

Until then, enjoy the new pictures in the gallery!

This "Something's Gotta Give Kitchen" looks great with the new paint.

It is amazing what our builders have accomplished in just two weeks.  All interior painting is completed.  All trim work is done.  Cabinets are fully installed.  And our amazing Barn Door Room divider is finished and installed.

The interior sliding barn door might very well be one of my favorite surprise features in the home.  When fully opened, the entire first floor flows from front porch to back.  When closed, you have an entire suite closed off from the rest of the home.

Enjoy the pictures.  I’ll be posting more in the coming weeks as we complete our cabinet hardware, bathroom accessories, ceiling fans, and exterior paint selections.

Beachtown Dream Home cabinets and oversized island.

Well…it has been a long time since my last blog entry and a ton has changed in the home.  Our builder let the trim carpenter loose and he has done an absolutely amazing job making the cabinet and built-in elevations an amazing and beautiful reality.  We have added and updated pictures on the gallery page.

Enjoy!

As was the case for many custom home builders, the amazing kitchen design of the Nantucket home featured in this movie inspired our own kitchen design.

While Jack Nicholson and Diane Keaton might be the leading actors in this movie, in my opinion the house is really the star.  The Nantucket home is just amazing and was our inspiration for our kitchen design, fixtures and finishes.

While our kitchen won’t look exactly the same, once finished, it will have a very similar look and feel, which I think is the ultimate mix of sophistication and beach style.

Here are some stills of the star kitchen from this movie.  Enjoy.

Well, in order to complete the electrical rough in, our builder asked us to finalize our appliance selections this week.  And as you would expect, we selected only the top of the line brands for the Beachtown Dream Home’s gourmet kitchen.

So what do we mean when we say a gourmet kitchen?  Well, a gourmet kitchen is a kitchen that focuses on the love of food and cooking and entertaining family and friends. It is designed for the home chef who enjoys cooking with the best ingredients and equipment.  The gourmet kitchen is a kitchen that meets the needs of the cook as well as expresses his or her style.

The Beachtown Dream Home Kitchen appliance package includes:

Following the trend in many other new homes we have visited, we have decided against prominently featuring a microwave in the kitchen.  Instead, the kitchen pantry has a dedicated outlet for a standard counter top microwave.

The Beachtown Dream Home's gourmet kitchen features top-of-the-line Thermador, Jenn Air and GE stainless steel appliances.
