The Beachtown Dream Home has yet to be painted. The new owners will have a chance to influence the final selection.

A number of people have asked me about our color choices for the exterior of the home.  Well, we haven’t yet finalized our exterior paint colors.  What you now see is just the maze and white primer colors of the hardiplank boards and raw wood.

Beachtown has a pre-determined set of color scheme guidelines.   There is some flexibility to change these color choices, but not much and it requires approval by the town architect.

Given that the Beachtown Dream Home tends towards an informal, classically inspired coastal expression, the best color scheme is one which is liberal with white and contrasts it with muted hues that draw upon the natural surroundings, like the ocean and vegetation.  When deciding on the final colors, we will be heavily considering greens, blues, and yellows with brown in them.

The ‘pilaster’ treatment between the master bedroom windows will most likely be white, as well as at the ends to reflect the look of a classic sun room.

Still, we have not finalized anything at this point.  Buy early and you might be able to influence the Beachtown Dream Home’s exterior color choices.

Beachtown does a great job with their marketing.  You’ve probably noticed their ads in Coastal Living, the local Galveston publications and in some of the Continental Airline magazines.  Over the coming weeks, I’ll be posting some of their ads and articles to help highlight why Beachtown really is the new premier coastal community in the United States.

Beachtown promotion highlighting real benefits of buying / building in this premier Gulf Coast community.

Key points:

  • Beaches are expanding naturally more than three feet per year.
  • Designed by internationally recognized planner and architect Andres Duany.
  • Minutes away from Historic Galveston, the largest historic district in Texas.  Convenient to major airports and just minutes to the University of Texas Medical Branch.
  • First community in Galveston to be affiliated with Fortified…for safer living (R) program – so homes are rated to withstand 130-miles-per-hour winds with roofs securely fastened and sealed to resist wind and water and impact-resistant doors and windows and first floor supports at least two feet above FEMA’s base flood elevation.
  • Galveston hs been listed in the CNNMoney.com “Best Places to Retire.”

Occasionally, I hear people knocking Galveston because its water isn’t turquoise and its beaches aren’t powdery white.  Well, that is true for most beaches not featured on the Travel Channel.

Still, the reality is that Galveston is amazingly beautify in its own right and these people are missing out.  Case in point, just look at this beautiful photo of the sun rising over the Galveston ocean.

Cloudy sunrise off the Galveston Gulf Coast this morning.

Now…just imagine yourself enjoying that view every morning as you sit on your private bedroom porch with a piping hot cup of coffee listening to the crashing waves and morning songs of the local shore birds.

This is what the Beachtown Dream Home offers and it could be yours.  Read on to learn more about this amazing under construction home…or fill out the online form on the Contact tab to start engage us directly.

Well, in order to complete the electrical rough in, our builder asked us to finalize our appliance selections this week.  And as you would expect, we selected only the top of the line brands for the Beachtown Dream Home’s gourmet kitchen.

So what do we mean when we say a gourmet kitchen?  Well, a gourmet kitchen is a kitchen that focuses on the love of food and cooking and entertaining family and friends. It is designed for the home chef who enjoys cooking with the best ingredients and equipment.  The gourmet kitchen is a kitchen that meets the needs of the cook as well as expresses his or her style.

The Beachtown Dream Home Kitchen appliance package includes:

Following the trend in many other new homes we have visited, we have decided against prominently featuring a microwave in the kitchen.  Instead, the kitchen pantry has a dedicated outlet for a standard counter top microwave.

The Beachtown Dream Home's gourmet kitchen features top-of-the-line Thermador, Jenn Air and GE stainless steel appliances.
